Zinc up 0.7% on overseas cues

Signs of strength in Chinese auto sales triggered increase in Zinc demand

Zinc futures for April rose by 75 paise, or 0.70%, to Rs 108.60 per kg in 261 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the March contract gained 65 paise, or 0.61%, to Rs 107.60 per kg in 3,493 lots.

Firm domestic demand, speculators enlarging their positions supported the trade.

Signs of strength in Chinese auto sales triggered increase in demand outlook for base metals globally.

Entire base metals gained at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
