Zinc rose marginally by 0.15% to Rs 100.15 per kg in futures trade today on the back of better trend in metals on the London Metal Exchange (LME) and pick-up in domestic demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in February edged up by 15 paise, or 0.15%, to Rs 100.15 per kg, with a trading volume of 41 lots.
January zinc delivery gained 10 paise, or 0.10%, to Rs 99.10 per kg, with a turnover of 1,187 lots.
Market analysts said apart from a firming trend in metals at the LME, pick-up in domestic demand also influenced zinc futures prices here.
Meanwhile, zinc was being quoted 0.3% higher at $1,875 per tonne in early trade on the LME.
