Zinc prices edged up by 0.35% to Rs 99.95 per kg in futures trade in line with firming trend overseas.
At the Multi-Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in March traded higher by 35 paise, or 0.35%, to Rs 99.95 per kg, with a business turnover of 60 lots.
February zinc inched up by 30 paise, or 0.31%, to Rs 98.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 417 lots.
Analysts said gains in the entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME) on strong US economic data and optimism that debt-laden Greece would secure a second bailout next week to avert a default, influenced the trading sentiments here.
Meanwhile, zinc rose 1.4% to $2,006 per tonne at the LME.
