Buoyed by a firming trend in global markets, zinc prices traded slightly higher by 0.78% to Rs 103.20 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April contract traded higher by 80 paise, or 0.78%, to Rs 103.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 5,437 lots.

The May contract edged up by 75 paise, or 0.73%, to Rs 104.05 per kg, with a business turnover of 187 lots.

Market analysts said the marginal rise in zinc futures was mainly due to a firming trend in global markets.

Meanwhile, zinc rose 0.2% to $2,006.50 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
