Skoda will be launching the next-gen Superb in India on 23rd February. The new Superb is more luxurious and crisper looking than the model it replaces.
The Skoda Superb has been known to offer great space and luxury and the new Superb will take this even forward with increase in size and equipment. The new Superb is built on VW's MQB platform that is also shared with the VW Passat. Though dimensionally bigger, the new Superb is 75kgs lighter that the current model. This is attributed to the new chassis it is built on.
The Superb comes with a choice of a 2.0-litre diesel with 160bhp of power and a 1.8-litre petrol engine with 178bhp of power. Both these engines are mated to DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission. The top-of-the-line Laurin & Klement (L&K) variant will come with features such as a full-leather interior, SSmartLink touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a ten-speaker Canton audio system.
The new Superb is expected to cost a little more then the current Superb with prices being between INR 27-32 lakhs (on-road). It is sure to give a tough fight to the bigger brands which offer their entry level cars at similar prices.
