Blaupunkt has launched one of the most advanced automotive radio systems called the Cape Town 940, which sits completely on a different level. The Cape Town 940 has used the Android platform to build this funky device. It bears a 6.8-inch capacitive TFT touch screen with 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and Blaupunkt claims to offer features that are no where available in the market when it comes to radio infotainment systems.

This system has a lengthy list of features starting from a simple, but, twin Bluetooth connectivity, internet connectivity with Wi-Fi and hotspot, smart phone integration, Android music player, application store, Map my India navigation system (at an additional cost of Rs 3,900). What impressed us at the launch was the cool Mirror Mode feature that allows the user to replicate the mobile screen on to the radio screen. This is convenient because one can manage the phone from the screen itself, let it be your contacts, messages or even what's app and Facebook-Twitter.

The twin Bluetooth system helps the user to keep two phones active at the same time with the infotainment system. The system also comes with rear entertainment facility. With the five-Band parametric equalizer it also delivers a great sound in the car. Other utilities provided are three USB inputs, auxiliary input and an internal memory of 8GB and also 1GB of RAM.
Overall, Blaupunkt has targeted the after market customers and believes it will be a hit product in the market since they are the first one to come up with the Android radio infotainment. The price of this system was quoted around Rs 54,990/-.
