Honda City CVT Recalled

Honda Cars India Ltd have recalled 3,879 units of CVT variants of the Honda City, whcih are manufactured from February 2014 to November 2014, in order to update the software that manages the continuously variable transmission (CVT), as part of Honda's recall campaign in several regions globally. The CVT control software will be updated to optimize the Hydraulic Pressure applied to the CVT.



The software is beingupdated free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India from 24th October 2015 and the company will communicate with customers directly. The customers can also check whether their car is covered under this campaign by submitting their 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite which has been created on the company's website (www.hondacarindia.com).

The Honda City CVT is powered by a 1.5-litre SOHC i-VTEC petrol unit that produces117bhp and a maximum torque of 145Nm. The Honda City CVTdelivers a certified fuel efficiency of18Km/l. The City brand has been the best-seller for Honda for over a decade now and lately the automatic variant has seen selling in high numbers as well.
