Honda CR-V facelift has been making several headlines off late, be it the exuberant exterior appearance, or be it the tentative launch dates in India. The latest from homes of Japanese automaker is that it has launched the India-bound 2015 CR-V facelift in Malaysia at a sticker price of RM 139,800 (Around Rs 23.8 lakhs). Being unveiled in Thailand last year, it has been thoroughly modified on the outside, except for the side profile and comes with up-market interior features.
Talking about the cosmetic changes on the outside in detail, the new Honda CR-V flaunts new headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. The front grille and bumper have also been tweaked to make it appear more rugged. The side profile, as mentioned before as well, is retained from the preceding model and it remains to be the same as it is a facelift. At the rear end of the SUV, the tail-lamp cluster and bumper are redesigned with extra bit of chrome garnish adorn to make it look premium than before. Inside the cabin, it boasts exquisite features such as dual zone climate control, Bluetooth-enabled audio system with control on the steering, 7-inch touch-screen unit, leather seats, etc. Features include HID headlamps, four airbags, ABS, stability assist, hill start assist, and reverse camera.
Mechanically, it remains the same altogether, albeit a new 2.0-litre 2WD variant is added to the line-up. The 2015 Honda CR-V is available with two petrol engine options in Malaysia - 153bhp 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine and 188bhp 2.4-litre i-VTEC engine. Both the engines are mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox, while former having a front-wheel-drive system and also gets a sex-speed manual transmission, while the latter consisting of 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrain options. It is expected that Honda would launch the refreshed and updated CR-V in India in the second half of 2014 as it has lined-up Jazz premium hatchback for the first half, sticking to its policy of two vehicle launches for India every year. As Honeywell is now exporting the 2.2-litre diesel turbos, we can expect a 2.2-litre diesel on the CR-V. Let us wait and watch.Source : MotorOctane
