Jaguar will be launching its new crossover- the F-PACE- in FY16 as the British marquee prepares to enter a new segment. The F-PACE was first showcased as the C-X17 Concept at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and it will be launched in under a year's time.

Jaguar had recently launched the XE, its new entry-level sedan, which is the first vehicle to be based on its all-new lightweight aluminium platform. The next-generation XJ and XF will also be based on this same platform, including the F-PACE. The company's new engine plant has commenced the production of the new Ingenium engines, of which only the diesel are being manufactured.

Discovery Sport

These are four-cylinder 2.0-litre engines, with 500cc for each cylinder. The petrol engine production will commence towards the end of FY16. By the end of this year, three to four models will be powered by these new engines. The XE is the first one and even the Discovery Sport will get them soon. India will be getting the new XE and the Discovery Sport with three engine avatars. Expect the F-PACE to come in next year.

The China JV plant will commence production soon, of which Evoque will be manufactured in the initial phase. The Jaguar XE will also be launched in China sometime in April-June 2015, however it will be an import from the UK plant. The retail sales of the Discovery Sport and the Evoque in China will begin by March 2015. China is an important market for the British marquee and it will soon increase its production capacity.
