Renault Kwid waiting period is six months

Renault Kwid is turning out to be quite a blockbuster in the Indian car market. This small car from Renault has been the buzz since the time it was launched in the last week of September and had crossed 25,000 booking by the first week on October.


Our sources have suggested that the bookings may have now touched around 40,000 and Renault is gearing up to expedite deliveries of the car, for which customers will have to wait for upto six months in certain cities.

The Kwidwas launchedat INR 2.85 lakhs (on-road, Delhi)andis the company's first hatchback for the Indian car market under INR 4 lakhs. The Kwid has beendesigned on the CMF-A platform and this will be powered by a 800cc engine.Itposes a directcompetition to the Alto 800 and the Eon 800cc, as well as the Tata Nano.

The Kwid has 98 percent localisation, which is one of the highest a car has ever offered. It has an SUV-ish ground clearance of 180mm and the boot size is also larger than competition at 300 litres, thus adding to a lot of practicality that customers seek.
