Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has admitted that the rumoured transfer fee 100 million pounds for Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale 'seems a lot of money', even for the player.
According to the Mirror, since starting to publicly court the Welsh winger back in May, Perez has insisted on several occasions that the Spanish giants are ready to shatter the world record for the White Hart Lane club's prize asset.
However, the report added that despite Spurs chairman Daniel Levy holding out for more money, Real, which previously claimed that they were ready to meet the north Londoners' demands, seems not to have budged from the 85 million pounds that they had reportedly offered.
Insisting that the cash on the table is more than enough, Perez said that although he does not talk about players or money, the suggested 100 million euros is a lot of money, even for Bale.
Even though Cristiano Ronaldo set the world record for a transfer fee when he moved to Real from Manchester United in 2009 for 80 million pounds, however, Perez said that he will consult with his advisors over whether to pay an even more astronomical fee in order to land Bale for new coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Although Bale remains insistent that he wants to move to Spain, the report however, said that the two clubs are unable to agree on who will go from Real to Spurs in part-exchange.
