Charged with assault on teenage recruits, 17 former British Army instructors will be appearing before a court martial next month.
As per The Mail's report, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed that 17 former recruit instructors will face a trial.
The instructors from the Army Foundation College in Harrogate will appear at the Bulford Court Martial Centre in Wiltshire on 21 and 22 September. They are facing a total of 40 charges, including actual bodily harm and battery.
"I have never heard of a case of this scale," former British Army commander in Afghanistan Colonel Richard Kemp said.
"If these charges are proven it will certainly be detrimental to the army from a recruiting perspective," he added.
