17 Naxals surrender in Chhattisgarh

Seventeen Naxals, including 15 men and two women, from Bodavada, Badanpal, Govindpal, Bhadrimau areas of Bastar district in Chhattisgarh surrendered before the police on Saturday.

The Naxals surrendered at the Jagdalpur Divisional headquarters before Divisional Commissioner Dilip Vaseekar, Bastar Inspector General of Police S.R.P. Kalluri, Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukherjee, Bastar Collector Amit Kataria, Bastar Superintendent of Police R.N. Dash, Collector Kondagaon Sameer Bishnoi, Sukma Superintendent of Police Indira Kalyan Elesela, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kondagaon Santosh Singh and Dantewada SP Kamal Lochan Kashyap.

"In the past 11 months, nearly 399 Naxals surrendered before the police," said the Bastar SP.
