The 18th edition of Ahmedabad Round Table car rally saw a total of 120 cars rolling out on the city streets with unique teams of driver and differently abled and visually challenged navigators embarked on an 80-kilometer journey in and around Ahmedabad.
"This is our 18th Ahmedabad round table car rally and we have been organizing it for the past 18 years. We are flagging the rally at the river front for the first time and there are 120 participants in the rally. This is also the first time that a lot of young people are participating in the rally," said Piyush Desai, organizer of the rally.
The organizers added that a message is given through these programmes that societal support should be given to disabled people
During the rally, the participants used a route map in Braille and guided the drivers to navigate.
Meanwhile, a participant Bhawesh Soni, said the rally gave a boost to their morale.
"This car rally will spread the awareness among normal people about our abilities and strengths. This event also enhances an interaction among us," said Soni.
Around 120 cars were flagged off during the rally and gave adrenaline rush to the participants.
