1D's Zayn Malik receives death threats over pro-Palestine tweet

One Direction's Zayn Malik has received death threats and abusive messages after he posted a Twitter message in support of Palestine.

The musician had tweeted the hashtag "#Free Palestine" to his 13 million followers and his message was retweeted 140,000 times and favourited 150,000 times, after which he received a backlash of death threats and complaints, News.co.au reported.

Previously, Rihanna also received criticism for posting the same message via her official account, however, she deleted it minutes later.
