Louis Tomlison is reportedly "gutted" after his bid to buy his hometown football club Doncaster Rovers fell through.
The singer had planned to invest money into the club and take over with former owner John Ryan, the Mirror, reported.
The One Direction star took to Twitter to share his disappointment with his fans and insisted that he was "misled" by bosses who told him the deal was not dependent on how much cash was raised by the Crowdfunder project, which was unable to gather the funding required for the takeover.
The 22-year-old singer tweeted that he was desperate for the club to be given the recognition it deserves and he was explicitly told that the deal to buy the club was not dependent on the money raised by Crowdfunding.
The star's bid to raise 2million pounds for his beloved team was believed to be heading for defeat after Louis failed to sell selfies for 250 pound-a-go and at the end of last month they had only raised 624.271 pounds of their target.
