Asserting that country needs a strong and stable government at the Centre, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley has said the Lok Sabha elections this time is a "one horse race".

"Many times, the race of forming a government is among three people, two people or two political parties, but for the first time it is a race in which only one horse seems to be running," Jaitley said while campaigning for the party's East Delhi candidate Mahesh Giri yesterday.

"When this is the scenario, I have never seen such elections in my entire life where the winning horse has left others far behind and cannot see his opponents," Jaitley added.

Jaitley further said that people now want a stable government in the country.

"The feeling among people about Modi winning and Congress' defeat is fading. Now, there is a new feeling among people that they want political stability in the country. In the coming days it will be the main aim in the forthcoming polls," said Jaitley.

Jaitley added that in forthcoming elections, BJP was emerging as a winner and had left its opponent far behind.
