'22 Jump Street' has topped the weekend box office grossing 60 million dollars marginally beating 'How to Train Your Dragon 2', which managed to make 50 million dollars.
The Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum starrer comedy sequel, which almost doubled the 36 million dollars earned by the original film at its release, also marked the second biggest opening for an R-rated comedy in history after 'The Hangover Part II's 85.9 million dollars, Fox News reported.
Sony Pictures worldwide distribution president, Rory Bruer, said that directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller executed the film beautifully, adding that the use of four-letter words and innuendo in R-rated comedies appeal to people and makes them laugh.
