Malaysia have objected for his athlete Khairul's disqualification in 100m men's final held on Day 2 of the ongoing 22nd Asian Athletics Championship at the Kalinga Stadium.
Malaysia's Athletics team manager Salim Parlan has lodged an appeal asking the reason for the disqualification and a re-run. The team paid 100 USD for the appeal.
As per the latest information, the jury is having a meeting in this regard.
The 19-year-old national record holder set the fastest time in the semi-finals when he ran 10.24 seconds to reach the final on Friday.
However, it was not immediately clear from a recording of the start of the final race why Khairul was disqualified, along with China's Tang Xingqiang.
Hassan Taftian of Iran won gold in 10.25s, just 0.01 second ahead of defending champion Semi Feun Ogunode of Qatar, with Yang Chun-Han of Taiwan third in 10.31s.
