A data privacy campaigner Max Schrems accused Facebook of violating European Union laws in a class action over online privacy gathering support of 25,0000 users. According to the BBC, the campaigner says that the way Facebook monitors users' activities violates E.U. laws.

Max Schrems had asked users who wished to take part to sign up through an application.

He also alleges that the social networking company co-operated with the U.S. surveillance scheme Prism.

Facebook had previously denied claims about Prism.

However, the company has not commented on the larger accusations being made against it.
