Thirty people were arrested by the police for allegedly parading a woman half naked in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan.
The 40-year-old victim was allegedly paraded semi-clothed on a donkey by village council members, who accused her of being involved in a murder case on Saturday evening.
A complaint was filed by the woman's husband after the incident, according to police.
"Taking the seriousness of the FIR, police department immediately rushed to the spot and arrested the accused. Thirty accused have been arrested. The woman is in the police station and we are talking to her and her family members," said District Collector of Rajsamand, Kailash Chandra Verma.
"They cut her hair, painted her face black, made her sit on donkey and paraded her. In this regard the FIR was registered after 12 noon in the police station today," Verma added.
Verma and other officials visited the village after the incident.
