Thirty-one Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended from Guwahati railway station here on Monday while they were planning to go back to Bangladesh.
The 31 included ten men, eight women and thirteen children.
"The group came from Bengaluru last night by Bangalore Express. They were expected to board the Kanchanjungha express to go to Agartala and from there to their ancestral home," Railway Police Deputy Superintendent of Police Iftekar Ali told reporters here.
The alleged illegal migrants had planned to visit their ancestral home in Bangladesh ahead of the Durga Puja celebrations.
The immigrants who had been working in Karnataka's Bengaluru for the past three years were held from platform number 1 of Guwahati railway station.
