Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) chief, Major General Asim Bajwa said Tuesday that the Pakistan Army has eliminated 447 terrorists, including a key commander identified as Matiullah so far, and destroyed 88 militant hideouts.
Briefing media here on Operation Zarb-i-Azb, Major General Bajwa said 26 soldiers had lost their lives.
The Dawn quoted him, as saying that ground operations in Mir Ali have started.
He said that the terrorists are putting up a resistance, and added that so far 11 militants have surrendered.
The ISPR Director General also confirmed that 80 per cent of Miramshah has been cleared by the security forces.
Major General Bajwa said that relief supplies are being provided to the displaced through various government channels.
Federal Minister for State and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch also attended the media briefing.

Baloch said the government had been sincere in holding talks with Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) till the very last moment. He also brushed aside suggestions that the military was running affairs, and said all matters including Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are under civilian control.
He added that the military is only assisting the civilian administration in Bannu.
