The death toll in the attack on Marshal Fahim Military University in Kabul has risen to five and 10 others were injured.
According to Tolo News, police chief spokesman Basir Mujahid has confirmed the death toll.
Earlier, the Afghan Ministry of Defence (MoD) spokesman Dawlat Waziri said that one soldier was killed after a group of attackers stormed the Military academy on Monday morning.
Three attackers have been killed, one has been arrested and one is still fighting, Waziri added.
The Afghan Presidential Spokesman Shahhussain Murtazawi had said that the attackers were restricted to the first gate of the academy.
The Afghan security forces have cordoned off the area as the attack is ongoing.
The attack was reportedly launched at around 5 am on the Military University in PD5, Kabul city.
The attack comes days after an explosive-laden ambulance was detonated in a busy area close to Kabul's infamous Chicken Street, killing 103 people, as confirmed by the Afghan Ministry of Interior (MoI).
