Rapper 50 Cent has been charged for injuring a former girlfriend and destroying 7,100 dollars in property during an argument, the LA City Attorney's office said in a press release on Wednesday.
The hip-hop star, who has a child with the unidentified woman, was charged with five criminal counts including one count of domestic violence and four counts of vandalism, Fox news reported.
If convicted, the singer could face up to five years in jail and 46,000 dollars in fines.
According to a release, the LAPD responded to a domestic violence call on June 23 at a condo, where 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, was supposedly damaging the property of the former girlfriend.
The release said that the woman reportedly locked herself in the bathroom, but 50 Cent kicked open the door and kicked her causing an injury.
The release claimed that the officers saw broken chandeliers and furniture in the condo, as well as a ransacked bedroom closet and a broken lamp and TV.
