More than 50 students fell sick after consuming their mid-day meals at a government school in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur District of Madhya Pradesh. It is suspected that they are suffering from food poisoning.
"The food was not good. After eating it, we all started puking," the affected students said.
The parents of the children alleged that government officials never pay a visit to the school to check the quality of the mid-day meal.
"After coming back from school, our daughter started puking. She said she found pebbles in the rice. Everyone has been admitted in hospital. Officials never visit schools to check the mid-day meals. We will complain against it," the parents said.
Food Inspector S K Tiwari said doctors have formed a team and the students are out of danger now.
"We got the information that the students got ill after consuming the mid-day meal. Doctors have formed a team. Eleven children have been admitted in the hospital. All the children are out of danger now," said Tiwari.
