A new survey has revealed that 50 and above people are the most content with their jobs than younger ones.

According to the AP-NORC poll, conducted on workers in the US, 9 out of 10 older employees were very or to some extent satisfied with their job regardless of gender, race, educational level, and income, News.com.au reported.

While very few respondents complained of undesirable comments at work place regarding their age, being passed over for raises and promotions, and other negative incidents related to being older, majority said that their age had a positive impact on their job.

6 in 10 respondents said that their colleagues turned to them for advice and over 4 in 10 said that they felt they were receiving more respect at work.

Tom Smith, director of the General Social Survey, said that generally, older workers have already climbed the career ladder, increased their salaries and reached positions where they have greater security, so more satisfaction made sense.
