Fifty-five more deaths due to swine flu were reported across the country on Monday, taking the total death toll to 1,370.
As per reports, about 25,000 people have tested positive for the H1N1 virus till now.
Unusual weather conditions this season have kept the humidity levels high and have also influenced the wind pattern across the plains of northwest India and adjoining areas, resulting in swine flu virus sustaining for a longer period.
Swine flu is caused by H1N1 virus. Symptoms for swine flu include high fever, headache, muscle pain, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain and internal and external bleeding.
