7 Delhi policemen suspended for relaxing rules for 'middleman' Sukesh Chandrashekhar

Seven Delhi Police personnel have been suspended for allegedly relaxing rules for 'middleman' Sukesh Chandrashekhar in connection with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) symbol bribery case.

Deependra Pathak, PRO, Delhi Police, told ANI, "7 police personnel suspended, inquiry will be conducted in a time bound manner, strict action to be taken."

Chandrashekhar was arrested on April 16 in connection to the Election Commission bribery case that also involves AIADMK (Amma) leader TTV Dinakaran.

Chandrashekhar was accompanied by Delhi Police for his court hearing in Mumbai, Coimbatore and Bengaluru between October 9 and 16.

Chandrashekhar has been denied bail twice, once by the sessions court and then by the Delhi High Court.

 

Dinakaran who was also arrested on April 25 for allegedly attempting to bribe an unidentified EC official was granted bail in the case on June 1.
