75 killed, 200 injured in Puttingal temple fire in Kerala

At least 75 people feared killed and 200 others reported injured in a massive fire that broke out in Puttingal temple here early Sunday morning.

Confirming the report to ANI, Kollam Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) K. Laljy said the injured were rushed to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.

An explosion in piles of crackers during fireworks display is said to be the reason behind the fire that broke out around 3.30 am.

The death toll is expected to climb as it is yet to be ascertained whether anyone remains missing.
