Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials seized over eight kilograms of gold from two passengers at the Chennai International Airport on Thursday.
According to reports, the officials, acting on a tip off, booked the passengers on charges related to smuggling. The two suspects were travelling to Muscat and Riyadh respectively.
The value of the gold seized has reportedly been appraised at approximately Rs 2.5 crores.
