A new 17-minute video shows 'confused' pro-Russia separatists rummaging through Malaysian Airlines MH17 passengers' belongings at the site of the crash, as they believed they had shot down a Ukrainian Airforce fighter jet.

A man dressed in camouflage, speaking in a mixture of Russian and Ukrainian, is shown asking where the remains of a military Sukhoi bomber was, as another responds, "There it is, it is the passenger plane," reported The Guardian.

Referring to the flight path above the war zone, the person, who is filming the scene, is heard asking, "Who gave them the corridor?" A voice offscreen is then heard saying, "Fuck. Passenger plane was fucked."

The distressing video showing pro-Russia separatists trampling over the charred crash site could prove to be vital to investigations into the incident and help identify armed men at the scene.

The video was published by News Corp Australia on the first anniversary of the downing of the Boeing 777 aircraft that killed all 298 onboard.

Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said that she was sickened by the video clip, shot immediately in the aftermath of the crash.

The West accused Russia of supplying the missile that they said was used by Ukrainian separatists to bring down the plane.

Russia has denied the claim and blamed Kiev for the air disaster.
