With the government all set to roll out Aadhaar-based payment services, the residents of Jammu and Kashmir are getting used to the idea of providing their Aadhaar numbers and using biometrics.

Residents of Kathua are thronging Aadhar card centres to get themselves registered.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan said the government has re-opened the registration process of Aadhar cards a month after suspending it.

He revealed that more than five lakh Aadhar cards have already been prepared as against a target of 5,64,000.

Residents feel that Aadhar card is an important document and it will help ease the process of moving over towards a cashless economy.

Dr. Bhushan appealed to the people to get themselves enrolled.
