'AAP built on foundation of corruption': Congress

Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken on Tuesday said the ongoing war of words between AAP leader Ashish Khetan and the party's founding members Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan reflected that the party has been built on the foundation of corruption.

"I've just listened to what Ashish Khetan said about Prashant and Shanti Bhushan and what Prashant Bhushan had to say about Ashish khetan. It indicates AAP, which claimed they'll fight against corruption, has been built on the foundation of corruption," Maken told ANI.

"How come they (Prashant, Shanti Bhushan and Ashish Khetan) were working together when they knew about each other? This means AAP doesn't care about corrupt people holding important positions in their party" he added.

His comments came after Shanti Bhushan lashed out at Khetan for saying that the Bhushan family had amassed property worth over Rs. 500 crore and that he wanted to know whether it was earned through PILs.

Bhushan said nobody can question his integrity and that his family was the most honest family in the country.

Khetan had earlier said he would give up his public life if expelled leader Prashant Bhushan was able to prove that he had planted stories for Essar in Tehelka magazine where he used to work.

The Aam Aadmi Party had yesterday expelled four of its rebel leaders including founding-members, Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav for "anti-party activities".

Party members Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha too were shown the door along with Bhushan and Yadav.
