Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Jain on Monday criticized Police Commissioner B. S. Bassi over his alleged 'hatyaein toh Dilli mein hoti hi rehti hain' remark and accused the city's police force of attempting to project the murder case of a 19-year-old at Anand Parbat to be a mutual feud.

"Commissioner Bassi said that the victim had spit at the culprit and he stabbed her in fit of rage. He said that this shouldn't be made a big issue as murders keep taking place in Delhi," Jain said.

"Police did not even take him into remand, when we questioned this he said that it is up to the police to decide whom they should take into remand. It is strange that police is taking such a serious matter lightly," he added.

Jain said that the Delhi Police is taking the Anand Parbat stabbing case 'lightly'.

"We have serious objection, the police wants to project this as a case of mutual feud. He kept stressing that there were complaints of fighting between two parties. It is surprising that the girl's family repeatedly complained about some men and eventually they killed her and police is taking it lightly," Jain said.

The Home Minister was talking to the media after the meeting between Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Police Commissioner at the Delhi Secretariat here.
