Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ashutosh on Tuesday said he has high regards for Haryana Government IAS officer Ashok Khemka, and hoped the latter would continue with his good work while on central deputation as is being reported in the media.
Responding to media reports that suggested that Khemka could be transferred from Haryana to the central government, Ashutosh said, "We have great respect for Ashok Khemka for the simple reason that he is a very honest and an upright officer. He has exposed the great corruptions of Robert Vadra, he was victimized by the Haryana Government. I hope when he is coming to Delhi, he keeps doing the great work which he was doing. We have a lot of expectation and hope from him."
The Haryana Government had reportedly charge-sheeted Khemka recently for going beyond his jurisdiction as an IAS officer to cancel the land deals between DLF and Vadra. The charge-sheet had also stated that Khemka had tried to defame Vadra.
Khemka has maintained that the state government was targeting him as he had exposed corruption in land deals involving Vadra.
Union Cabinet Secretary Ajith Seth has reportedly made a recommendation to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to transfer the 1991-batch IAS officer, who took on the son-in-lawof Congress president Sonia Gandhi - Robert Vadra - and cancelled some shady land deals involving him and real estate giant DLF, from Haryana to the central government.
The PMO has also cleared Ashok Khemka's name and the communication is being sent to the Haryana Government.
