Promising a reduction in power tariff, greater decentralization of the administration and implentation of a Lokpal Bill for Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its manifesto for the December 4 state assembly elections on Wednesday.
AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said "mohalla sabhas", or "colony assemblies" would be established as part of the decentralisation drive, and added that these sabhas would receive funds annually.
He also said that the people would be the final arbiters of what they wanted specifically for their respective areas, and not state assembly members or bureaucrats.
As far as power tariff was concerned, Yadav said if the AAP was voted to form the next government, the rates would be reduced by at least 50 per cent.
"We will change the entire system of electricity distribution which is at present being manipulated by power discoms," he added.
The Delhi Government, he said, would directly control the police.
