The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday maintained that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is not serious about giving respect to women, judging by its actions and statements on the Somnath Bharti domestic violence case.
"He (Somnath Bharti) will suffer for his misdeeds. His wife has alleged that there was attempt to kill her. It is unbelievable that someone can behave in this way with his wife. If he has done such a crime, then he must suffer," Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay told ANI.
"The Aam Aadmi Party always talks about giving respect to women, but in reality, it does not seem that they want to give respect to women," he added.
The Supreme Court today ordered the AAP MLA to surrender before the Delhi police today, failing which, they warned that they won't hear his plea for bail on October 1.
