The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday said it will support Anna Hazare's protest against the amendments made in the Land Acquisition Act if the social activist 'invites' them to do so.

"In principle we are with Anna Hazare on this issue, but as you know that Anna has himself demarcated the line that social movement has a different path and the political movement has a different path. If he calls us, or invites us, then we will surely go. In principle we are with him," AAP leader Ashutosh told ANI.

Earlier on Friday, Hazare had reportedly said that the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was welcome to join him in his protest but added that no political party can come on the stage.

The veteran activist is all set to hold a two-day dharna at Jantar Mantar on February 23 and 24 against the amendments made in the Land Acquisition Act.

Social activist Medha Patkar, along with 70 other organizations and farmer unions from across the country will also join the protest.

Earlier on Friday, Anna Hazare flagged off a 'padayatra' of at least 5,000 farmers from Palwal in Haryana who will reach Jantar Mantar in the national capital tomorrow to join the protest.
