Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh on Wednesday alleged that the sole aim of the Land Acquisition Bill is to grab the farmer's land and hand over them to the powerful people.
Singh, who was talking to ANI after the meeting of the NITI Aayog chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official 7, Race Course Road (RCR) residence, said the Land Acquisition Bill is opposed by the farmers and the common people.
"The only aim of this bill is to grab the land of farmers and hand over them to the powerful people. We are opposing it from the beginning and today our Chief Minister had raised this issue in the meeting," Singh said.
"Due to the dictatorship of Modi government, this bill can't be passed through the Parliament and is repeatedly being passed in the form of ordinance," he added.
Prime Minister Modi, who chaired the second meeting of the governing council of Niti Aayog earlier, in his opening remarks said the Centre and states must move together to end poverty.
He said the political deadlock over land acquisition is seriously impacting rural development, including the creation of schools, hospitals, roads and irrigation projects.
