Former Pakistan fast bowler Aaqib Javed has ruled himself out of the race for the country's head coach.
The development comes just days after he was considered as favourite of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to take over Waqar Younis.
Earlier, Waqar had announced that he is quitting from his position after the team's early exit from the World T20.
43-year-old Javed, who had earlier shown his interest in taking the job, confirmed he was not applying for the role and would continue to remain the UAE head coach, the Dawn reported.
Javed's decision came after the PCB openly advertised that they wanted a foreign coach.
Javed, who has been head coach of the UAE since 2012, pointed out that the cricket board had approached him last week but have changed their mind, adding he was not ready to offer his expertise to those who could not hold to their promises.
