The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday came down heavily on Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state president Dilip Ghosh for remarking that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's house should be set on fire.

Calling the remarks as "absurd", TMC MP Jogen Chowdhury said, "How can they talk like that. This is a democratic country. It is absurd."

At a public meeting in Kharagpur, Ghosh had stated that Mamata's house should be set on fire, if she dares to do anything against him.

Meanwhile, it is being reported that a letter has been sent to the Kolkata Police by the TMC over Ghosh's remarks.
