Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday said that the Congress should stop accusing the BJP of communalism as it had been an old formula and asked them to try something else.
"Whether its Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi, they have sent all their records to office. But what have they done till now? Talking and alleging about communalism is an old formula now.
They should try something else," said Naqvi.
"We talk about defeating inflation they talk about defeating Modi. We talk about defeating corruption and they talk about defeating BJP. So the difference between us is quiet visible now," he said.
"They have given a lot to the country, be it right to terrorism, scams or right to corruption. Now also Sonia Gandhi is giving message in wrong sense and words. Congress party is morally entering into hell now," he added.
He further said that the Congress was saying such things as they were nowhere close to winning the elections.
"They are nowhere now and that is why they are giving such statements. Today people from every part of the country want a change, and we are not talking to people about vote and asking them for it. We are talking about change and good administration," Naqvi said.
"Today NDA is in a position of 300+ and people are favoring Modi and his popularity is increasing. They trust the party. People are now moving forward with the topic of development," he said.
Yesterday, Congress president Sonia Gandhi launched an attack on the BJP on Monday, after making a television appearance and urged voters to reject "divisive and autocratic" forces that would ruin the country's "Bharatiyata" and "Hindustaniyat".
She also alleged that BJP was dancing to the tune of RSS whose "parochial and extremist" thought was aimed at dividing the society and indirectly questioned credentials of prime ministerial candidate of main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Narendra Modi, to govern the country, while addressing a rally in Rajasthan.
