Women rights activist Kavita Krishnan said Thursday that the BBC documentary "India's Daughter" was both anti-India and anti-women.
Krishnan told ANI, "My concern is that India's image cannot be damaged. The documentary is fully anti-women from beginning to end."
She further said, "This documentary can hamper our judicial process and affect the quest for giving justice to the rape victim."
"This is very painful for the family of the rape victim and others who have been affected by rape-related incidents. This is not the film of solitarians. We are asking for the postponement of the screening of the film until the judicial process is completed," she added.
Krishnan's response came in the wake of the BBC documentary that contains an interview of Mukesh Singh, a jailed convict, who has expressed no remorse for the rape of a 23-year-old woman on a running bus on the night of December 16, 2012 on the outskirts of the Indian capital.
Singh said that women are to blame if they are being raped, as they are increasingly abandoning their household chores and moving out of their homes to lead wasteful fun filled lives.
