'Lord of the Rings' star Christopher Lee has launched a Christmas single at the age of 92.

Lee's brand new heavy metal tune 'Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing,' is being as a playful version of the holiday classic 'Hark! The Heralds Angels Sing,' and the actor said that the sing is "light-hearted, joyful and fun," E! Online reported.

"It's a band singing on how metal should be played, the effect it has on the band and its listeners," added Lee, who has now become the oldest heavy metal artist ever.

He said that he tries to keep active by doing the things that he "truly enjoys," and since he didn't know how long he was going to be around, he treats every day as a celebration.

This isn't the first time Lee has recorded a musical number, as last Christmas the 'Star Wars' star recorded 'Jingle Hell', which made to No. 18 on the Billboard charts.

The song is available on iTunes and other music outlets.
