Adityanath bats for cleanliness awareness to combat diseases

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday pitched for cleanliness and said most of the diseases can be eliminated if there is awareness in the society.

The Chief Minister also hailed Centre's flagship cleanliness drive Swachh Bharat Mission and said 'the campaign is a solution to almost all the vector-borne disease.'

Speaking at the Ram Manohar Lohia Ayurvigyan Sansthaan, Adityanath further said that Uttar Pradesh is the largest state by population but it lacked behind in terms of development and political leadership.

"Uttar Pradesh lacks behind on the scale of development and political leadership. Health sector also got badly affected because of this. There is bad situation in urban areas so what one can expect in the rural areas. Attempts are being made to improve the situation," he said.

 

"In Uttar Pradesh, we need efficient doctors and for that we need good institutions. There is not a single day when media does not expose the loopholes of the medical institutions. I know everything published in newspaper are not true but some could be true," he added.

He further said that there was a time when the Prime Minister of the country get his treatment done in state's Balrampur hospital.

"The doctors should have compassion to treat his/her patients. When it will only be commercial and profit or loss will be linked then they will never be able to achieve their goal. Whenever I go to Gorakhpur I meet with the physicians at least once," he added.

He further urged the doctors to set camps in slum areas to treat people there.
