Advani lauds Nanaji Deshmukh's contribution to Indian freedom struggle

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran Lal Krishna Advani on Sunday paid his tributes to social activist Nanaji Deshmukh and said that he contributed immensely to the Indian freedom struggle.

"I want to congratulate the Prime Minister and the administration for visualizing a programme like this," Advani said while speaking at an event - Loktantra Prahari Abhinandan - organised on the occasion 113th birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan at Vigyan Bhavan here.

"We have organised this programme today because of the birth anniversary of J P Narayan ji. I also want to mention that Nana Deshmukh, who also worked for RSS and later on went to actively participate in politics for years, shares his birthday today," he added.

 

Advani further said, "Today, he is not with us but the way in which he devoted his entire life in the service of the nation, I can say that he was one of our great leaders who participated in our freedom struggle.
