Afghan FO summons Pak envoy over shelling in eastern province

Afghanistan's Foreign Ministry has lodged a strong protest with Pakistan's Ambassador Abrar Hussain over shelling in the eastern Kunar Province allegedly by Pakistani troops.

According to the Express Tribune, the Afghan Foreign Ministry said that Deputy Foreign Minister Atiqullah Atifmal had conveyed serious concerns to Hussain.

The Afghan Foreign Ministry also said that eight personnel of Afghanistan were killed Kunar's Nari district, adding that it caused a huge loss of property.

Atifmal told Pakistani envoy that it was not the first time that the Pakistani troops had fires into the Afghan side of the Durand Line.

He also said the Pakistan envoy had been summoned several times but there has been no change in the policy of Islamabad.
