Afghan Govt. calls emergency meeting post 7.7 magnitude earthquake

The Afghan Government has convened an emergency meeting to assess the damage caused by the deadly 7.7 magnitude earthquake that jolted Afghanistan, Pakistan and India with Hindu Kush region as epicenter.

National Disaster Management Authority CEO..will also be present in the meeting.

According to TOLONews, a number of residents of Badakhshan province have reportedly been injured.

Hindu Kush lies 256km north-east of the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul.

Kabul residents said it was the most powerful earthquake they have ever felt.

Some mobile networks went down in Kabul and power outages were also reported.

Hospitals across Afghanistan are on standby.
