India is offering a combined course in IT and Communication to the professionals from war-torn Afghanistan.

Many professionals from Afghanistan are undergoing short-term combined courses in Delhi conducted by NIIT under ITEC fellowship programme, sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs.

At present, four Afghans are learning IT and communication skills at NIIT Delhi.

The institute aims to educate the Afghan professionals so that they can perform better in their respective fields efficiently.

Ahmed Nasir Begzad, Finance officer in State Minister, Afghanistan, said that his country lacks in IT and Communication training centers.

"This is a good opportunity for us to come here and join this kind of course and also when we return back to our country we teach other students to learn more about English," said Begzad.

Mohin Mirzada is working with the Ministry of Refugees, Afghanistan, and is optimistic about the communication skill training in India.

"In Afghanistan, there is lot of problem for example the condition is not good in Afghanistan and there is no good institute where we can learn English and to improve our knowledge so we came to India," Mirzada said.

Every year, a large number of Afghan professionals come to India to improve their skills in IT, communication and other areas.

"At present we have offered the basic courses to Afghanistan students, one is of course is proficiency in English course where these students come from very remote locations. They do not have opportunity in their country. With our courses they go back with a confidence of at least speaking English in their country. With our curriculum and as well as our teachers, we have been able to have their confidence build up," said Ravi Malhotra, Head of sales in NIIT.

India has been using 'soft power' to help rebuild war-torn Afghanistan.

Skill training to professionals is the major thrust for the country. (ANI)
